SV AUSTRIA SALZBURG – HOME SHIRT 2023/2024 

SV Austria Salzburg is a professional Austrian club, based in the attractive city of Salzburg.

Violette (The Violet-Whites) were formed in 2005 in protest to their original club being acquired by Red Bull (Red Bull Salzburg).

Austria Salzburg started in the 7th tier of football in Austria. They rose through the leagues with four successive championships, to reach the third tier in 2010. In 2015, the club secured another promotion to the Erste Liga (the 2nd division) but were relegated the following season.

Before the acquisition by Red Bull, Salzburg had won the Austrian Bundesliga three times and reached the 1993/94 UEFA Cup Final.

The club wore this home shirt in the 2023/2024 season (the club’s 90th anniversary).
They won the Regionalliga West title but were denied promotion on the grounds of the necessary infrastructure not being in place at their stadium to comply with the higher level, so the club have had to remain in the Regionalliga.

The season was also note-worthy as they were drawn against Red Bull Salzburg in the Austrian Cup, their first meeting since the split. Due to security concerns, the match had to be played outside of Salzburg. Red Bull won the match 4-0.
