Bayer 04 Leverkusen were founded in 1904 by employees of the Bayer pharmaceutical company. They are based in the German City of Leverkusen in the state of North
Rhine-Westphalia.

The club have played in the Bundesliga since the 1979/80 season.

This third shirt was worn in the 2024/2025 season as Leverkusen attempted to defend their Bundesliga title but finished 2nd behind Bayern Munich, under the successful leadership of Xabi Alonso.

In Europe, Leverkusen reached the Quarter-Final of the Champions League before losing to Barcelona. Patrick Schick was the club’s top scorer with 27 goals in all competitions
