BOCA JUNIORS - HOME SHIRT 2026
Boca Juniors were founded in 1905 in the dockside La Boca neighbourhood of Buenos Aires, and few clubs anywhere carry this sort of weight. Known as Los Xeneizes (the Genoese, a nod to the area's Italian immigrants) and Los Bosteros, they play their football at La Bombonera, officially the Estadio Alberto J. Armando, the famously steep, three-sided "chocolate box" where the terraces seem to lean right over the pitch. As the locals say, "La Bombonera no tiembla, late" (it doesn't shake, it beats), and once you've heard it you understand why.
The 2026 campaign, during which this iconic home shirt is worn, is the club's 98th consecutive season in the Argentine top flight, played under club president Juan Román Riquelme. The domestic season splits into two tournaments, the Apertura and the Clausura, and after a change in the dugout Rodolfo Arruabarrena took the reins from June. The shirt itself is the famous deep blue with that bold yellow horizontal band across the chest, the look that has defined Boca for generations.
On the pitch it has been a proper season. Boca beat great rivals River Plate 1-0 in April's Superclásico, and after dropping out of the Copa Libertadores group stage they made a real fist of the Copa Sudamericana, reaching the final while also going deep in the Copa Argentina.
Up front, Uruguayan Miguel Merentiel leads the scoring, with midfielder Santiago Ascacíbar chipping in and World Cup winner Leandro Paredes pulling the strings in the middle. Marquee names, proper Boca.
