BORUSSIA DORTMUND - HOME SHIRT 2025/2026
Borussia Dortmund are one of Germany's best-supported and most beloved clubs, founded in 1909 in the Ruhr industrial heartland. Known as Die Schwarzgelben (the Black and Yellows), or simply BVB, they play at the mighty Signal Iduna Park, still called the Westfalenstadion by traditionalists, the largest stadium in Germany. Its famous Südtribüne, the Yellow Wall, is Europe's biggest standing terrace, packing in around 25,000 roaring fans and turning matchdays into a wall of noise and colour.
The 2025/2026 season, during which this unmistakable home shirt was worn, was Dortmund's 50th consecutive campaign in the top flight and unfolded under head coach Niko Kovač. It was a strong, consistent effort that yielded a 2nd-place finish in the Bundesliga on 73 points, though the gap to runaway champions Bayern Munich stood at a chastening 16 points. Champions League football was comfortably secured, but the title never truly came within reach.
There was frustration in the cups. The DFB-Pokal run ended early in the Round of 16, while in the Champions League Dortmund battled through a topsy-turvy league phase to reach the knockout play-offs, only to bow out there in February. It was a season of steady league progress without the deep runs that make for a spring to remember.
Serhou Guirassy was the standout, banging in 17 Bundesliga goals and 22 across all competitions, the Guinea striker leading the line superbly. Julian Brandt weighed in with 11 in all, and Norwegian full-back Julian Ryerson topped the assist charts. The summer had seen academy graduate Jamie Gittens sold to Chelsea for around 64 million euros, while Jobe Bellingham, brother of Jude, arrived to write the next chapter of the family's Dortmund story.
