CAMBRIDGE UNITED - AWAY SHIRT 2025/2026
Founded in 1912 as Abbey United and rechristened Cambridge United in 1951, the club known simply as The U's are the pride of the university city. They play at the Abbey Stadium, currently styled the Cledara Abbey Stadium, a tight and atmospheric ground in the Barnwell district that has been their home for more than a century. Few English clubs carry a nickname as neat as a single letter.
The 2025/2026 campaign, during which this away shirt was worn, was the club's 114th and their first back in League Two following relegation from League One the previous year. Under head coach Neil Harris, Cambridge responded in style. They finished third in the table on 82 points, winning 22 of their 46 matches and sealing automatic promotion straight back to the third tier at the first attempt.
There was cup football to enjoy too. In the FA Cup, The U's saw off Chester and Stockport County before bowing out at home to Championship side Birmingham City in the third round. Their Carabao Cup run brought wins over Bristol Rovers and Charlton Athletic before a third-round trip to Premier League Fulham ended the adventure.
Goals were shared around, which is often the mark of a promotion side. Ben Knight led the way in the league with 11, while Sullay Kaikai topped the all-competitions chart with 12. Behind them, a well-drilled defence conceded just 33 times across the season, the platform on which promotion was built.
