CHESHAM UNITED – GK AWAY SHIRT 2025/2026
Chesham United Football Club is a semi-professional football club based in Chesham, Buckinghamshire, England. Nicknamed "the Generals", they are currently members of the National League South and play at The Meadow.
The club was established in 1917 by a merger of Chesham Town and Chesham Generals. Chesham Town, originally founded as plain Chesham FC in 1879, were founder members of the Southern League Division Two in 1894. The new club joined the Spartan League in 1919 and enjoyed early success, winning back-to-back league titles in 1921–22 and 1922–23.
The club's most famous moment came in the 1967–68 FA Amateur Cup, when against all the odds little Chesham United went all the way from the Preliminary round to the final, finally losing 1-0 to Leytonstone in front of a 54,000 Wembley crowd. At a time when the population of the town was just 18,000 people, the club sold 22,000 tickets for that game.
The 1990–91 season saw Chesham win Isthmian League Division One, earning promotion to the Premier Division. They went on to win the Premier Division in 1992–93, but were denied promotion to the Football Conference due to their ground failing to meet the necessary criteria. At the end of the 2017–18 season Chesham were placed in the Southern League Premier Division South due to league reorganisation. They were Premier Division South champions in 2023–24, earning promotion to the National League South.
The club's goalkeepers wore this away shirt in the 2025/26 season, their second consecutive campaign in the National League South, the sixth tier of English football. The shirt features Chesham's distinctive sponsor, the Channel 4 programme Taskmaster - a partnership that began in 2022–23 after comedian Alex Horne was appointed a director of the club, whose ground had previously appeared as a location in his television series.
