CLERMONT FOOT - AWAY SHIRT 2024/2025
Clermont Foot 63, nicknamed Les Lanciers, the Lancers, are the standard-bearers of Clermont-Ferrand in the Auvergne. First formed in 1911 and reshaped into their modern form by a 1990 merger, they call the Stade Gabriel-Montpied home. The club made history in 2014 as the first French men's professional side to appoint a female manager, Helena Costa, and their Coupe de France legend still glows from 1997, when they knocked out three professional sides including Paris Saint-Germain before bowing out to Nice.
The 2024/2025 Ligue 2 season, though, was a hard slog. Having been relegated from Ligue 1 the previous May, Les Lanciers struggled to adjust, changing manager from Sébastien Bichard to Laurent Batlles mid-season, and this smart away shirt was worn as they finished 16th of 18. A meagre 30 goals across the campaign told the story of a side low on attacking spark and fighting to survive.
Survival came the hard way, via the end-of-season play-off. Clermont won 3-1 away at Championnat National outfit Boulogne-sur-Mer, then held on despite a 2-1 home defeat to stay up 4-3 on aggregate, sparing the club a second successive relegation.
Winger Mons Bassouamina finished as leading scorer with 4 league goals, matched by Maïdine Douane, while experienced heads Famara Diedhiou and Henri Saivet added a handful between them. It was a season to grit teeth and dig in rather than shine, and the fans stuck loyally with their team.
