COVENTRY CITY – HOME SHIRT 2023/2024
Coventry City Football Club are a professional English side based in Coventry. Founded in August 1883, the club boasts a long and proud history, highlighted by their famous FA Cup triumph in 1987. They were also among the founding members of the Premier League in its inaugural 1992 season. Today, the Sky Blues compete in the EFL Championship, the second tier of English football.
After years of dispute and ground-sharing, Coventry finally returned home to the CBS Arena for the 2021/2022 season.
This home shirt was worn throughout the 2023/2024 campaign, a season in which Coventry hoped to go one better than the previous year - when they narrowly missed promotion after losing the play-off final to Luton Town on penalties.
Although the Sky Blues ultimately fell short of promotion again, finishing 9th in the Championship, the season will be remembered for an extraordinary FA Cup run. In a dramatic semi-final against Manchester United, Coventry staged a stunning comeback from 3–0 down to draw level and even scored a late winner that was controversially disallowed by VAR. United went on to win on penalties and later lifted the trophy after defeating rivals Manchester City in the final.
And one more thing: Louis, Rob, and Kellie from the Surprise Shirts family are huge Coventry City fans!
