Club Deportivo Garcilaso, commonly known as Deportivo Garcilaso, is a professional football club, based in the southern Peruvian city of Cusco.
The club is named in honour of the Inca Garcilaso de la Vega, a prominent Peruvian writer and historian. The team is affectionately nicknamed "El Garci" and "El Vendaval Celeste" (The Sky-Blue Gale) due to their traditional sky-blue kit.
Deportivo Garcilaso plays home matches at the Estadio Inca Garcilaso de la Vega, located in downtown Cusco. The stadium, named after the same historical figure, boasts a capacity of approximately 45,056. It serves as a shared venue with local rivals Cienciano and Cusco FC.
Throughout its history, Deportivo Garcilaso have been a significant presence in Peruvian football. They have participated in various editions of the Copa Perú, achieving notable success. In 2022, they secured promotion to the Peruvian Primera División (Liga 1) for the first time, by winning the Copa Perú.
The club wore this home shirt in the 2024 season when finishing 12th in Peru’s top division. In the Copa Sudamericana, Garcilaso finished 3rd in Group G and so failed to progress, behind Lanus of Argentina and Cuiaba of Brazil.
The club maintains a historic rivalry with Cienciano, known as the "Clásico Cusqueño," which is one of the most significant football rivalries in the Cusco region.
