DORADOS DE SINALOA - HOME SHIRT 2024/2025

Dorados de Sinaloa are a Mexican football club founded in 2003 and based in Culiacán, the capital of the northwestern state of Sinaloa. Known to fans as El Gran Pez ("The Great Fish") for the golden marlin on their crest, Dorados have spent the bulk of their history in Mexico's second tier - Liga de Expansión MX - with two brief spells in the top flight. The club's most famous chapter remains the 2018/2019 season, when none other than Diego Maradona took the manager's job and dragged Dorados to back-to-back Ascenso MX finals.

The 2024/2025 campaign - during which this striking home shirt was worn - was a season unlike any other. Uruguayan manager Sebastián Abreu, the former Botafogo, Cruzeiro and Uruguay national-team striker who had taken charge in May 2024, led the side through the Apertura 2024 tournament before escalating security issues in Culiacán in the autumn forced the club to relocate all its remaining home matches to Tijuana. Abreu departed in March 2025 and was replaced by Carlos Pinto for the Clausura 2025 run-in, with Dorados ultimately falling short of the promotion play-off final in both halves of the season.

The Sinaloa security crisis also touched the club's women's side. Dorados de Sinaloa Femenil had been competing in the inaugural Liga TDP Femenil 2024/2025 season - Mexico's new exclusive third-tier circuit for women - but were forced to withdraw from the competition on 30 October 2024 amid the same regional concerns, an unfortunate footnote on what should have been a historic campaign for women's football in Sinaloa.

Despite the upheaval, the famous home shirt of El Gran Pez remained a symbol of pride - worn by the Dorados faithful from Culiacán to Tijuana through one of the most challenging periods in the club's history.
