FC GOA – THIRD SHIRT 2025/2026
FC Goa are a professional football club based in Fatorda, Goa, competing in the Indian Super League (ISL). They play their home matches at the Fatorda Stadium in Margao, which has a capacity of around 19,000. Founded on 26 August 2014, the club are affectionately known as The Gaurs. Despite being a newly formed side at the time, the club quickly made headlines by attracting big names such as Brazilian legends Zico and Lúcio, along with Arsenal icon Robert Pirès. Zico coached the club to 2nd in the league stage of their first season.
Over the years, FC Goa have established themselves as one of the most successful teams in ISL history, winning the first ever ISL League Winners Shield in 2019/2020 and becoming the first ISL club to reach the AFC Champions League group stage. Interestingly, former Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli is one of the club’s co-owners.
The 2025/2026 season, during which this striking third shirt was worn, was an unusual one. The Gaurs began in Asia, facing Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr in Group D of the AFC Champions League Two and losing both meetings. There was silverware to celebrate at home, though, as Goa lifted the AIFF Super Cup in front of their own fans at the Fatorda Stadium in December 2025.
The Indian Super League campaign, delayed and cut to a single round of 13 matches, proved a story of inconsistency. A 2-0 win in April handed leaders Mumbai City their first defeat of the season, but Goa finished seventh of 14 as East Bengal took the title.
