FC Utrecht is a professional club based in Utrecht, Netherlands. It was formed in 1970 following the merger of several local clubs.

They play at the 23,750 capacity Stadion Galgenwaard, in Utrecht and are nicknamed Domstedelingen (The Cathedral Citizens).

Utrecht play in the Eredivisie, the top Dutch League from which they have never been relegated. In season 2019/20, they finished 6th in the league, just missing out
on European places but did reach the Dutch Cup Final beforelosing to Feyenoord.

Utrecht are considered the team most likely to challenge the Dutch ‘Big Three’
clubs: Ajax, Feyenoord and PSV Eindhoven.
