Germany took to the pitch in this striking away shirt during their 2004 campaign, wearing it throughout UEFA EURO 2004 in Portugal as they looked to restore their reputation on the continental stage. Having reached the 2002 World Cup final, expectations were cautiously optimistic, with a blend of experienced leaders and emerging talents forming the core of the squad.
EURO 2004, however, proved to be another frustrating chapter. Drawn in a competitive group alongside the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, and Latvia, Germany were unable to find their rhythm. Two draws and a narrow defeat to the Czechs saw them exit at the group stage, marking their second consecutive early departure from a European Championship and signalling the need for significant restructuring within German football.
As of 2026, Germany have already secured qualification for the 2026 World Cup and have been drawn into a group alongside Curacao, Ivory Coast, and Ecuador. Die Mannschaft will be aiming to assert their authority from the outset and set themselves up for a deep run in North America led by players such as Nico Schlotterbeck, Florian Wirtz, and Joshua Kimmich.
