GERMANY – HOME SHIRT 2020
Germany’s national team are one of international football’s true giants, representing a nation with an unparalleled footballing pedigree. Die Mannschaft have consistently set the benchmark on the world stage, winning four FIFA World Cups (1954, 1974, 1990, 2014) and three UEFA European Championships (1972, 1980, 1996). Despite their storied past, Germany's more recent history hasn't been as good and thus have slipped to 10th in FIFA's World Ranking.
This formidable legacy has been shaped by legendary figures such as Franz Beckenbauer, Gerd Müller, Lothar Matthäus, Manuel Neuer, and Miroslav Klose. Klose remains the all-time leading scorer in World Cup history, while Matthäus holds the record for most minutes played in the tournament. Beckenbauer, arguably the nation’s most iconic football figure, famously lifted the World Cup both as a player and later as a manager cementing his place in football history.
Germany took to the pitch in this modern white home shirt for their UEFA EURO 2020 campaign, held in 2021. Entering the tournament during a period of transition, Joachim Löw’s side combined experienced figures with a new generation of talent, aiming to return to the top of European football.
EURO 2020 proved to be a challenging campaign. Germany progressed from a difficult group that included France and Portugal, showing flashes of their quality along the way. However, their journey came to an end in the Round of 16, where they were defeated by England at Wembley, marking the end of Löw’s long tenure as head coach.
As of 2026, Germany have already secured qualification for the 2026 World Cup and have been drawn into a group alongside Curacao, Ivory Coast, and Ecuador. Die Mannschaft will be aiming to assert their authority from the outset and set themselves up for a deep run in North America led by players such as Nico Schlotterbeck, Florian Wirtz, Jamal Musiala, and Joshua Kimmich.
