HB KØGE - HOME SHIRT 2024/2025

HB Køge are a Danish club with a proper story behind them. They were formed on 1 July 2009 from the merger of Herfølge Boldklub and Køge Boldklub, two Zealand sides based just south of Copenhagen, and they play at the Capelli Sport Stadion within the Køge Idrætspark. Known as Svanerne (The Swans), they carry a remarkable inheritance: parent club Herfølge were shock Danish champions in 1999/2000 under John "Faxe" Jensen, a small-town side finishing above Copenhagen and Brøndby in one of the Superliga's greatest ever upsets.

The 2024/2025 campaign was one of survival. In the second-tier Danish 1st Division (the NordicBet Liga), HB Køge, guided throughout by manager Nicklas Pedersen, finished the regular phase 10th of 12 and dropped into the relegation group. They steadied themselves there, ending 4th of six on 34 points to keep their place as Vendsyssel and FC Roskilde went down, all in this understated home shirt.

There was a cup day to savour, too. In the Danish Cup (DBU Pokalen), the Swans reached the third round before drawing FC Copenhagen at home. They held firm until late goals from Lukas Lerager and Pantelis Hatzidiakos settled a 0-2 defeat, no disgrace given Copenhagen went on to win the trophy for a record tenth time and complete the Double.

Leadership came from experienced captain Mike Jensen, marshalling a young squad through a demanding year. The pick of the run-in was a thrilling 4-3 home win over FC Roskilde, the kind of open, nervy game that defines a relegation scrap, while victory over B.93 helped keep the Swans clear of trouble. With the academy still feeding the first team, another season in the second tier counts as solid work.
