KARŞIYAKA SK – HOME SHIRT 2022/2023

Karşıyaka SK are a Turkish football club based in the Karşıyaka district of İzmir, founded in 1912, making them the oldest club in the city. The club takes its name from the neighbourhood it represents — Karşıyaka translating roughly as "the opposite shore" — sitting on the northern coast of İzmir Bay.

One of the more distinctive honours in the club's history is that Karşıyaka SK is the only club ever granted permission by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, founder of the Turkish Republic, to wear the crescent and star emblem on their badge — a source of immense pride for the club and its supporters to this day.

Karşıyaka hold a fierce local rivalry with Göztepe, with matches between the two known as the İzmir Derby, and count Altay and Bucaspor among their other regional rivals.

The 2022/2023 season saw Karşıyaka competing in the TFF Third League, the fourth tier of Turkish football, where they finished 7th.

The club currently remains at this level, continuing their push to climb back through the divisions and restore themselves to the heights their history and passionate fanbase deserve.
