KEDAH DARUL AMAN - GOALKEEPER SHIRT 2024/2025

Kedah Darul Aman are one of the proudest names in Malaysian football, based in Alor Setar, the capital of Kedah in the far north of the peninsula. The club date back to 1924 and the old Kedah Football Association, before being privatised and rebranded as Kedah Darul Aman FC in 2021. Known to their faithful as Sang Kenari (The Canaries), they play at the 32,387-capacity Darul Aman Stadium. Kedah state is nicknamed Jelapang Padi, the rice bowl of Malaysia, and the club carry the hopes of the agricultural north.

The 2024/2025 season, during which this eye-catching goalkeeper shirt was worn, was the club's 16th in the Malaysia Super League and one of the most testing in their history. Nafuzi Zain began the season in charge before club legend Victor Andrag stepped in as interim head coach in November, and the Canaries finished 11th, winning six, drawing six and losing twelve of their 24 league matches, conceding 51 goals along the way. A three-point deduction and a RM50,000 fine early on added to the burden, and the campaign ended in heartbreak as Kedah were ejected from the Super League and demoted to the A1 Semi-Pro League after failing to secure a national licence for 2025/2026.

For all the defensive struggles, there were nights to remember in the cups. Kedah reached the semi-finals of the Malaysia FA Cup, drawing a season-high crowd of 18,317 for the tie with eventual winners Johor Darul Ta'zim, and also made the last four of the MFL Challenge Cup and the Round of 16 of the Malaysia Cup.

Between the posts, experienced local Ifwat Akmal shared goalkeeping duties with Kalamullah Al-Hafiz and Wan Syazmin Wan Rozaimi through a demanding campaign. At the other end, Brazilian centre-back Cleylton top-scored in the league with four, while Ghanaian forward Ebenezer Assifuah led all competitions with six.
