SPORTING HASSELT - HOME SHIRT 2025/2026

Koninklijke Sporting Hasselt, known simply as Sporting Hasselt, are a Belgian club from Hasselt, the capital of the Limburg province in the Flemish east of the country. Founded in 1926 and known affectionately to their supporters as De Spor, they play their home matches at the Stedelijk Sportstadion, the city's municipal sports ground. Here is a lovely nugget: Hasselt is celebrated across Belgium as the home of jenever, the traditional juniper gin, so there is always a decent drop on hand to toast a good result.

The 2025/2026 season, during which this classic home shirt was worn, was the greatest in the club's history. Sporting Hasselt won the Belgian Division 1 VV title, the Flemish group of the third tier, running out champions and earning promotion to the Challenger Pro League, the second tier of Belgian football, for the first time ever.

The promotion arrived with plenty of drama attached. In April 2026, with the championship all but secured, the club were denied the professional licence they needed to move up, a cruel twist that briefly put everything in jeopardy. De Spor appealed the ruling, and in May 2026 the licence was duly granted, rubber stamping their place among the professional clubs for 2026/2027 and setting off wild celebrations in the Limburg capital.

This was a genuine team effort in front of goal, with Tuur Dierckx, Livio Milts and Sam Valcke each netting eight to sit among the division's top scorers, and Alain Matoka adding seven of his own. The vastly experienced Dierckx, a veteran of the Belgian top flight, brought guile and composure to a squad brimming with belief. This home shirt celebrates the season Sporting Hasselt made the leap into professional football.
