slumped to a 9th place finish in La Liga.

In the Copa del Rey, Valencia failed to defend the trophy they’d won the previous year after suffering a quarter final defeat to Granada.

In the Champions League, Valencia topped their group to make the knockout stages but were then soundly beaten by Atalanta 8-4 on aggregate, over the two legs.

Uruguayian striker, Maxi Gomez was the club’s top goalscorer, with 11 goals in all competitions.
