VANCOUVER FC - AWAY SHIRT 2025
Vancouver Football Club, nicknamed the Eagles, are among the youngest clubs in Canadian football, founded on 2 November 2022 when the Canadian Premier League awarded an expansion side to Langley, British Columbia. Home is Willoughby Stadium at the Langley Events Centre, an unusual modular ground of just over 6,000 seats built from prefabricated elements, which was packed to capacity for the club's first ever home match. The badge carries a stylised eagle formed in the shape of a V, in the club's colours of charcoal black, silver and warm red.
The 2025 season, in which this smart away shirt travelled the country, was Vancouver's third in the CPL and by some distance their most dramatic. Founding head coach Afshin Ghotbi was dismissed on 23 July 2025 with the club bottom of the table on only 8 points from 15 matches, and Martin Nash took the reins as interim manager. Nash gathered 13 points from the closing 13 fixtures, yet Vancouver still ended the year 8th and last of the eight teams, with 4 wins, 9 draws and 15 losses, 21 points and a goal difference of minus 22.
The campaign is remembered less for the league table than for a remarkable cup adventure. Despite their domestic struggles, the Eagles reached the final of the 2025 Canadian Championship, going down 4-2 to crosstown rivals Vancouver Whitecaps. That run carried a huge prize: qualification for the 2026 CONCACAF Champions Cup, a first taste of continental football for a side that had propped up its own league.
The goals were shared between co-top scorers Pathe Ndiaye and Hugo Mbongue, each with 6 for the season, while Uruguayan Nicolas Mezquida pulled the strings behind them. Long-serving captain and goalkeeper Callum Irving, at the club since its very first fixture, again played a leading role.
