VFL OSNABRÜCK – HOME SHIRT 2024/2025

VfL Osnabrück is a German multi-sport club based in Osnabrück, Lower Saxony, best known for its football section. Founded on 17 April 1899, the club has worn purple and white since the 1920s; colours that have defined their identity and earned them the nickname die Lila-Weißen (the Purple-Whites).

The club holds the record for the most seasons played in the 2. Bundesliga without ever featuring in the Bundesliga, and has built a reputation as one of German football's most resilient yo-yo clubs - repeatedly bouncing between the second and third tiers. Osnabrück won the newly formed 3. Liga in 2009-10 while also enjoying a run to the DFB-Pokal quarter-finals that season, beating Hamburger SV and Borussia Dortmund along the way.

They wore this shirt in 2024-25 having been relegated from the 2. Bundesliga the previous season, returning to the third tier for another chapter in their familiar story. Despite a turbulent campaign that saw four different managers take charge across the season, they finished 3rd in the 3. Liga table - just outside the automatic promotion places, in a season that ended without the comeback they were hoping for.
